Pretty Summer time Calvin……….. but in Thailand it is rain every day…

How do you spell schadenfreude?

As one gets older, summers just sort of disappear. Just another season.

Boy, I think heaven must certainly include enjoying summer as a kid again.

There are some days you’d just love to wipe that smile from his face.

Calvin is so sweet, isn’t he? I wish I had a kid that smart!

From what I can see Congress would agree with you.

I have been retired two years ago, I have enough work to do and don’t find it boring, I love every minute, too!!

He’s gloating about the fact that, as a comic strip character, he can’t age. Then again, he won’t get many privileges when he could at an older age…

That kinda hits home as we just lost some friends that gave up the rat race, sold possesions and the trappings of regular life and went on a 5 year sailing adventure. The Nina went missing June 4 between NZ and Australia.

Your day will come, you little pipsqueak.

Enjoy it now Calvin. Soon you will be in the work force if you are lucky. If you are unemployed you will have no means of supporting yourself. Dad is not going to support you after 18.You funny little kid.

If his mom heard him talk to his father like that, she might have a few chores for him to do.

Calvin’s father’s restraint is extraordinary – that briefcase should have come whizzing back in the air to smack Calvin full in the face…

My husband is a teacher. He rubs it in, just like Calvin.

And then Calvin will go off and do something that make Dad think of all he could accomplish at the office on weekends.

I’m with Calvin. Being retired, I can state that retirement is not overrated! Now what kind of trouble can I get into…

There is one strip where Dad regrets going to the office at first (such a beautiful summer day):Calvin (running for his life): “Hi, Dad! Bye, Dad!” (He had just filled Mom’s shampoo bottle with dead bugs… LOL!) But, in the end, Dad actually appreciates his time in the office; remember, things could always be worse!
