We once took our little kids to San Francisco zoo, the baby in a carrier, and I remarked as how one good spook and those elephants could charge that moat and up the hill and through the flimsy fence and out. A week later the Loma Prieta earthquake happened and there was a wolf on the lam, running down the city streets.
This happened three day ago.. google “NRA lobbyist shoots elephant in the face and then celebrates with champagne”After it tears your heart out, it’ll make you tear your nra card up
While I haven’t been there in over 40 years, I understand that at the Bronx Zoo, animals are no longer in cages.Instead, they are in replicas of their natural habitats, and visitors ride over a road to see them
Or we can let them live free in their natural habitat and be killed by poachers by poisoning the water holes as happened in Kenya a few days ago killing over 80 elephants.

Ahhh: horizontal with actual reading material. That’s going to be my reward today, if I get my chores done.

@frugalnotcheap: Usually, tigers in the zoo don’t get to recline on a soft bed with their head on a pillow and read comic books.

Maybe Calvin should visit a prison and see what his adult life might be like!

Mum already has her own zoo animal which is Calvin when he refuses to go to bed.

It’s true, Pepelaputr, zoos are most often the safest environment for this threatened species!

Zoos aren’t that bad! Much nicer than prisons.
gyroman12345 about 11 years ago
Well, to Hobbes a zoo could be like a prison.

A prison true. Good thing that they are being less of a prison and more of enclosed habitats. Smaller butt still more natural

Yes. Perhaps Tigers and Water Buffalo should be kept in their natural habitat… with each other.
