gmartin997, sanctimonious realists get on my nerves. Did you approve of Lance Armstrong’s methods as well? The end still doesn’t justify the means. Even if you do get an elite athlete coming out from such coaching, you’ll get ten that fail and all will possibly pass on that attitude to the way they treat others in their lives. They may be grown men, but they aren’t paid and they’re still vulnerable to abuse of power (most anyways, I’ll give you that).
It’s not what may work for a few, but what works best for everyone that matters. Colleges of all places are meant to instill that into our young people, not to teach them how to beat others into submission.
Great modern coaches do not have to resort to physical or verbal abuse to mold champion teams,I don’t see Rick Pitano or John Calipari hurling basketballs at their players nor did I ever hear Gino Auriemma or Pat Summit belittle their female players.Championship teams are achieve through championship caliber coaches.
I surprised Tank didn’t do a tribute to the late great announcer Pat Summerall he more important than that egomaniac Mike Rice who agrees with me???!!!!!…Pat could drive a point home with a few words and he didn’t have to call guys fairies if you know what I mean don’t report me y’all
@BillHinds can you do a strip where Tank pays tribute to Pat Summerall???…Pat was a great play by play man especially when paired with long time partner John Madden John was funny
gmartin997, when it came to Armstrong, I was talking more than PEDs – the bullying, intimidation, threats, and that was to his teammates. Clearly we each see the world differently, but no competitive pursuit is worth following a path of self destruction, physically, mentally or spiritually.

If you are a grown man and you have a coach pummeling you with objects because you lost – I think you can take care of that problem yourself.
