You're got it all backward... See, the writers don't have to write any bad-guy dialogue! The makeup guys don't have to make anybody beautiful... Nine-tenths of the cast can totally phone it in without messing anything up. Costumes... Thrift store. Props... Hardware store, see? It's not the public that love zombie movies! It's the producers!

Actually a zombie movie needs more make-up people than a regular movie because they have to make the zombies ugly, and that can take more work than making someone beautiful.
