The 35 or 40 murders which are committed every day in the United States are ignored as so much “background noise.” But something rare and unusual like this gets our attention, perhaps because most of the rest are “personal” and we can somehow imagine ourselves safe from such attacks. No one can imagine himself safe from this sort of thing.
Awesome response by the public. I saw the footage, and the crowd surged TOWARD the explosions, to see how they could assist the fallen. It must be the reason why so few were killed, despite the ghastly injuries.
These are the times I (a foreigner) vehemently salute the USA and Americans.
¿Oye pendejo, are you suggesting that migrant farm workers were responsible for the marathon bombing? Parece que Timothy McVeigh was one of the biggest migrant criminals in history. Oh, wait…¿He was born here? ¡Cabron!
Oh, and onguard, it’s not a “War” on terrorism. Wars are for state opponents, or opponents you have some respect for. This should be regarded as a police action against criminals. “Struggle against terrorism,” as in the cartoon, is a reasonable phrase.
I hope this is NOT the beginning of frequent violence like in Pakistan or Israel. According to one news report, over 70 planned/attempted bombings in USA have not happened.

I’m really trying to not have an argument on this day, but what has anything got to do with racism?
