Ernesto: Peter! Sorry I missed band rehearsal the other day. Petey: You weren't there because you're imaginary. Ernesto: Haha! No, I merely had a dental appointment. Petey: Uh-huh. Ernesto: I'm cutting my fourth set of teeth, which is most unusual for someone my age who isn't a Great White shark. But I'll be at rehearsal today, armed with my trust trombone, whom I've dubbed "The Hurlitzer." Petey: My imagination is really good.

Yeah, this strip always has great dialogue. Bill Watterson (of Calvin & Hobbes) actually endorsed Cul de Sac….which is why I started following it.

I used to think he was real, but after panel 3 I’m no longer sure of that.
