I’M NO HORTICULTURE EXPERT ARLO, BUT YOU CAN’T EXPECT ANYTHING TO GROW ANYWHERE! MANY FACTORS NEED TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION! HOW BIG IS THE PLANT YOU’R GROWING SUPPOSED TO GET? IS THERE ENOUGH ROOM FOR THE ROOTS TO EXPAND? WHAT IS THE SOIL LIKE, AND HAS IT BEEN ANALYZED FOR IT TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE SEEDS? HOW HARSH DOES THE WEATHER GET IN YOUR AREA? REMEMBER SOME OF THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO JUST BURY SOMETHING IN THE GROUND AND EXPECT IN TO GROW!!!!

My moms neighbor planted asparagus one year and somehow it came up all over my moms back yard the next year. I’ve never grown the stuff. I get mine from the store. So, exactly how does that happen?

The bushes are growing really fast. He just can’t see it until he makes a comparison at years end.

In the “deep south” aka zone 8, it’s Easter that is the deciding factor as to when one can start wearing white and Labor Day is the deadline for wearing white.

(FYI : cow manure or fish carcasses are much better for asparagus . )

I think y’all are missing the point . The plants are indeed growing but Arlo has become accustomed to viewing them on a regular basis so he doesn’t realize the extent of their maturation .Kinda like having teenagers .
