Opal you are an evil woman, don’t you know that song is contagious if even mentioned?

Even Scar of “The Lion King” despises that song. He did ask Zazu to “sing something with a little bounce in it” after all.

Not even surgery can remove it.

How come it’s seldom a song you like that gets stuck?

Face hole leakage, and “It’s a Small World” stuck in your head. Quite the day in comics!

Would this qualify as the most despised song (and/or tune) ever?

It just get me to thinkin’ about that old time rock and roll.

Hey, when I was in Tokyo Disneyland last December, it was a medley of It’s a Small World and Jingle Bells together. We went on the ride both days we were there. ;)

that song is very evil, but at least I am no longer humming Oklahoma………..sigh

Don’t cha just hate that when it happends. I think the medical term is “ear worm”. No know cure.

I plan to go back just to go thru that ride again and again and again….in the meantime, I’ll just hum the New World Symphony…my son swears by it for ear worms. Oops, that didn’t work….

Clifford D Simak once wrote a short story about a man who set out to find what makes a tune catch in your mind that way. He was trying to create the ultimate catchy song. Someone later found him, after his computer finished calculating and composing the song, locked mentally into it. The song was so catchy he could literally think of nothing else.

The hook of the story is why didn’t the janitor who found him get caught by the song too? It seems he was tone deaf.

That Brady Bunch theme stayed stuck in my brain for four years. “Here’s the story of a man named Brady, who was . . . . . .” Goshdangit!! it’s there again . . .

Hope my husband doesn’t see this, it will drive him up the wall.

I think it will rattle in Opals head… It’s empty in there anyway.

There was a Superbowl bet by 2 DJs (who worked for the ABC) that the loser has to ride It’s a Small World for 8 hours. They were at DL live that day.

I find the best cure for earworms is to replace it with the “approaching war” theme from the Leningrad symphony. It will stick even more firmly, but Schatakovich is far more bearable than Tin Pan Alley jingles.

Supposedly, the way to get rid of an earworm (hearing the same song over and over again) is to sing The Girl From Ipenema.

Just picture Calvin’s poster in your minds eye and the laughter and grinning will drown out the song..

That song is cute and I went on the ride in Disneyland Paris. It was amazing.

Went on the Small World ride back in the 70’s @ Orlando. You need to be deprogrammed afterwards.

my daughter worked on the ride for a few months. I would have ripped the hair out of my head after one hour.

I went to Dizzyland with some children last time and had that (fill in name of unmentionable song) in my head for weeks!
