Wonderful! But Gasoline Alley is not retired so Walt Wallet cannot yet stay—oh, me.
Well, let’s try this, left to right: Eyes and forehead—I dunno! Then Augustus Mutt, then a fine bearded man I don’t know! Then Happy Hooligan with can on head, and little Jeff. The (blonde?) lady waving—too hard for me to tell, but Tillie the Toiler’s Mac is right of her. The man saying “Toodle” was prominent in this series, but I cannot place him. Then the mustachioed man (waving top hat) none of us could identify on April 26. Then the bird that swallows Fat Stuff’s buttons, Sparkplug the racehorse, the Yellow Kid (Mickey Dugan by name), Kilroy, Walter Weatherby Wallet, Slim Skinner, Albert Alligator, and a Smoky Stover saying on the street sign. What a tour de force this series! Thank you, Mr. Scancarelli!
Albert the Alligator from the Pogo comic strip is saying “SEE YOU LATER ALLIGATOR”.
I wish besides Pogo and Albert, other Pogo characters like Churchy La Femme, Howland Owl, and Mam’selle Hepzibah would appear at the old comic strips retirement home.
Also: How come despite being rerun in many newspapers: Why isn’t the casts of Peanuts and For Better or For Worse in the comic strip retirement home?
And: These comic strips should be added to the comic strip retirement home: Cathy, Calvin and Hobbes, Opus and Bill the Cat from Bloom County, and even the cast of Cul De Sac.
@DJJG:Yes. That’s “Paw” of Polly and Her Pals" drawn by Cliff Sterrett. Btw, Moon Mullins is AWOL here and seems to be a figment of everyones imagination !Look here and google elsewhere;http://animationresources.org/?p=612
If this current episode is indeed over, Thank You, Mr. Scancarelli for an incredibly enjoyable run. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories (Maggie & Jiggs, especially!) Well done, Sir, all the way around! Hopefully, a yearly reunion wouldn’t be out of the question.

I recognize Mutt and Jeff, Moon Mullins and the Yellow KId (even in the wrong color). But who are the others?

That was fun. But will Walt wake up from his dream?

The Yellow Kid started out with different color night shirts. When Outcault did a yellow night shirt, that stuck.

Spark Plug and Albert, but I don’t see Moon.

Now I wonder if the white-bearded, bespectacled man is meant to be Pa from “Polly and Her Pals” by Cliff Sterrett.
