Some light fixtures are placed in unsafe places. Our house had a light at the top of the stairs to the second floor. It wasn’t in a place where you could get a chair, or stepstool, and stand on it to replace the bulb. The chair or stepstool would have been to close to the edge of the steps for safety. I had the light replaced with a swag light which had been in our entryway. The chain was attached by a hook to the ceiling at a position where the bulb can be changed safely. I bought another light for the entryway.

Back in Virginia, we said it took 6 people. 1 to change the bulb, and 5 to talk about how good the old one was!
