Gweedp says: @Number ThreeDear, I’m sorry you were offended. That might be construed by some as what they call ‘self denigrating humor’. I meant nothing against your nurse friend. A non family member can be a very powerful association and for some, more valuable than actual family; the kind of family where fault finding and put downs are the norm. Not all families have such great loving relationships, sadly. I could wonder “what th’ hell’m I livin’ for” as I got nobody up close and personal… other than the fact that I like to see what each day brings and that I will strive to find and do things that keep me interested, like perhaps, using the kind of “terminology” that gets me barred in places like Goatkomix.
I am touched that my Aunt’s passing has affected you. It affected me more than I thought it would. Good memories come up when I think of her. She and Mom were best friends as grown women and when not face to face wrote lengthy letters back and forth..For the Prof.Re the strip: I notice that it says that Andy is available for my iphone. Guess I better hurry up ‘n’ git me one ! .@Chawkee DeanYup, Yup and Yuppy. “Tarvis” ! They got lottsa streets there. Think they even had an (Hap) Arnold Avenue or some such. That area was good at hitting a hundred or so in summer. Naming streets after places and significant military figures is De Rigger in such places. I think I was in Davis one night. Was also in Rio Linda one Saturday..I love the “Oreo kittehs” or is that a cupcake with a Ying Yang frosting ?
I agree with you when you say that sometimes non family members can be more valuable than real family members. I consider everybody at Andy Capp as my second family and it feels nice.
At least none of them tease me about the size of the blood donor needle like my big cousin does! LOL.
I like to take each day as it comes too.
Your Mum and Aunt Linda won’t need to write letters to each other anymore. They’ll be together now and face to face always.
P.S. I always liked the word ‘GoatComics’ or ‘Goatkomix’ as you spelled it. It’s pretty cute.
Thank you again for your comment and I hope your day is going well despite the very sad news you had yesterday.
The Gardener from Colorado says:That was a nice “Speedy”, beviek. I wonder if that song were made today it wouldn’t immediately be tagged as racist by Goatkomix ?
and he further added:@Number ThreeYeah, me too ! My condolence and a hug on the loss of Julie. It’s a good thing when you have an ongoing comfortable relation with your professional people. We have to “chalk” Goatkomix up to Chawkee j, even if I might have changed the spelling some. Can’t say as I cotton to being “harvested” but if someone were in need of some ‘juice’ and had to have it right then in an emergency, then I would help out.I have to go run the riding mower before Joe takes it back to “the office”. May your May day be a good one. Saw you at M&J and figured you had been here too.
@BeviekAlways nice to see a fellow Missouri fan of our Andy! BUT: Don’t you wish our Andy talked the way he useta orter, not none of us there and them there and THESE there silly Mid-Americanisms what seem to be be creepin\’ in these recent years?

Today’s strip was reasonably good although the bland no-dialect dialogue does grate on me. When did the Capps move to Middle America?

I love Andy’s expression in the final panel.
It’s the type of face where you never have your camera when you need it.
LOL xxx

That’s OK… No worries. I’m sorry also.
