Trivia: M. Robert Guggenheim sacrificed his U.S. ambassadorship to Portugal in 1954 when his demonstration of “spoons” at a palace dinner resulted in the coincidental placement of an errant teaspoon into the cleavage of an esteemed lady guest. Ooops.
Wendall and Elaine have been “collecting” stolen spoons from Ballard St. restaurants for years….and, frankly, they’re no longer welcome in most places. After all this time, they’re finally admitting to themselves that…..the thrill is gone…
…but what will they do with their collection? They can’t realistically put all that stolen property on craigslist, can they?
Another reference I seem to have missed. Only card games I remember for the grown-ups were bridge, canasta and tripoli (except the men played poker sometimes).
I’ve got my fresh squeezed lime with just 5 drops of stevia. Very tasty drink at this time of day.
All I can think to do with all those spoons that Stel just showed is that they might make a fairly decent wind chime (not as melodious as mine (which I still need to send for re-stringing they even polish all the woden parts ). How about THAT, Leaky?
Hey, hanging spoons from your nose should be an Olympic sport. My only concern is their lack of SAFETY equipment.Side note;Spent this weekend working Security post at the scene of the Granbury Tornado. They let the folks finally in Saturday to begin to pick up what they can find. Some found nothing. It was all gone. I was one house that from the front looked like nothing happened. Windows unbroken, front door intact. Go to the rear and the rear half of the house was cut off and completely gone. We heard glass breaking and yelling so we ran around finding the owner breaking the windows then bashing the door in. He turned with tears running down his face and said “Now at least the front looks like the back.” Family escorted him off. Saw about Oklahoma and those north. Today we Midwesterners are under the guns again. Be safe, Be well, Hug your loved ones today. It could be your last chance. Don’t miss the chances.
Beviek,They had just finished the one that survived. It was suppose to be dedicated and the keys handed over the next day after the tornado hit. The Habitat folks had just moved all their equipment to another location. Had they left it there it would have all been destroyed.Over 95 percent of the folks living there in that community have no insurance at all. That is one thing I noticed different from West. Very few insurance adjusters in the area. I saw State Farm, Allstate and Geico. Many had insurance on their cars and none on the homes. And with West the FEMA bunch where every where. In that Rancho Brazos subdivision I did not see a single FEMA person any where. Of course this did not get FEMA for some reason. I think it has to do with population. West was the ENTIRE city of West. This was a small subdivision. This still rubs me a bit as I feel the government should do things for its own people in time of need even if they feel its not BIG enough.Tell your folks there in OK. Keep a watchful eye on the sky. I got a feeling this is going to be a bad tornado season.
I’m afraid I’ll need help posting my story about my cat Stormy. She’s bought a little cottage on the lake near Ballard Street. Prince Mua’s Chalet is a tad too big for her.

Just view NOAA. Good radar and very up to date.http://radar.weather.gov. No fluff just facts. Make your own observations. The Outbreak is beginningBrownwood Texas all the way up into Kansas and Missouri.Nearly solid from Wichita Falls Texas up to Coffeyville Kansas. Ardmore, Tulsa are in the paths. Missouri and points east. Hang on.Same areas here in Texas due for another hit. Like they need another Deja Vu.Tornado pop up already in Brownwood area. Some of my old patrolling grounds.
Gotta go for now.We have all been put on alert to get ready for later. Storms blowing in our western areas of my district. No beer tonight. Hunker down folks.See you on the “other” side.See if they have extra Yak for the folks affected by all this.Help if you can and be safe. Live wires, gas leaks, and nails.
I don’t think this is a good time for me to post about a cat named Stormy. Too many real storms out there today. Stay safe everyone. If I don’t get back tonight, it is just that I am cleaning up the mess of my own making here.
I came here because I have been absent for awhile, after reading some of the comments, it seems more appropriate to say:
To all here, those with immediate family, or any of you there or in the tornado paths, STAY SAFE, YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS, AND THE PRAYERS OF US HERE, I AM SURE!Times like these make you realize, you may have problems and troubles in your lives, but others have it worse, or just as bad as you do.

Wendell and Elaine usually enjoy spooning.

Yes… how could they have planned any better than five spoons apiece?
They only have a service for 12 and they need a couple for the coffee.
