Please don’t ever try to be like Doonesbury. I love this strip just the way it is!

Melvin. Kyle drew him first, when he was introduced as Roy’s nemesis.

Seems kind of spendy. You’d think you could buy plans and/or a kit and make one yourself for a fraction of the cost.

Its time for him to learn that Santa doesn’t bring everything for which he wishes.

What, a Star Trek strip where you don’t show a woman using the Vulcan neck pinch on some stupid evil man? (Sorry, I’m bitter.)

Got to sit in the real Captain Kirk’s chair last summer. (or at least one of the many used on the original series). And a walk through on the bridge of the Next Generation. (I don’t like using the abbreviations)

Jay Johnstone, butt monkey. Years of humiliation with the company have made him a bit cynical, and not a bit richer. Which is strange, because programmers usually pull in six figures.

Roy Hobbs, geek. An expert with computers and machines, he doesn’t have a clue how to deal with people. Yet he still has a girlfriend.

Rita McMann, the evil manager (2001-2003). She thinks “rock bottom line” – unless it would mean her suffering. Now she’s more ditzy than evil, though she does have a strange BDSM relationship with Jay.

Dana Powers, the overworked office manager (2001-2003). She has strange powers granted to her by the writer in 2003 in order to prevent conflict and adversity in her life. Also has a strange D/s relationship with Jay.

Ed Kennedy…Kennedy, the smartest employee at MappyCorp. He expends far more energy avoiding work than working. Best character in the strip.

Carolina Lopez, web guru/Miss Fanservice. She’s smart and pretty and she knows it. Bilingual, and her second language isn’t Klingon.

Kathy Moon, Roy’s girlfriend, and fellow geek. Their relationship has its ones and its zeroes, but it’s a real love. To Roy.

Sal Bandi, a weasel: he’s not good with people or machines, so of course he’s in customer service. Writer’s revenge fantasy of how Wally from that other workplace comic strip should be.

Andrew Norton, graphic designer, office cool guy. Good with people; not so good with computers.

Sue Smith, tech writer and office busybody. Jealous of Dana for turning into a plot device and Carolina for being Miss Fanservice.

Medusa, Dana clone, who also works for MacroMicroMappy. She can turn you to stone with her glare. Don’t annoy her. Also in a D/s relationship with Jay.

CJ Rapps, an intern. She was once the favorite niece of the CEO, but he’s since left, so she’s on her own. Still not fired for some reason. Recently became a lesbian for no reason.

Elena Belloff, a professional hypnotist hired by Rita to motivate the staff. This character is based on a real hypnotist of the same name, and was added to the strip as part of a contest. Now mostly used to humiliate Jay.

Lila Powers, Endora clone She had a crush on Ed but got bored with him. Now gets her thrills in a D/s relationship with Jay.

Mrs. Jenson, an elderly woman working in the archives. Nobody remembers to whom she reports, so they’re stuck with her. Second-best character in the strip.

thats a lot of characters that can be described in one word.
