@ron:Truth: global warming / climate change is real. Following causes may be:
1. Man made, so changeable abeit inconvient and possibly expensive.
2. Natural, probably via astronomical reasons, so not changeable.
If it is #2, then expect the “unpleasant” events including droughts, floods, frost killed crops on a massive scale, etc. and not be able to do a darn thing about it. You see the warming poles make the jet streams more extreme and erratic, which in turn affect weather. Humans might change it within a century. Astronomical events may take thousands of years. Call me an opptimist, but I am cheering for #1.
P.S. we just had a near frost event a half month after warm weather crops were planted. That’s most of what people eat bud.
The global warming “scientists” are freaking out, because they can’t explain why …. get ready for it…. it HAS NOT GOTTEN HOTTER!There IS no global warming.
I am not denying that climate changes. It always has. But has anyone ever started wondering where all that CO2 originaly come from? And have they considered why Earth gradually cooled off as CO2 was bound as sediments? And that had man not (like volcanoes) set some of it free again we might probably now enter another longer lasting ice age than the last ice age light from about 1300 til 1750? To my best knowledge cutting down rainforests contribute more to devastation of Earth than burning oil. Only one thing seem so be sure: Neither of us will problably live long enough to see if the new ecology-religion is right. At the moment it seems ready to put everyone to the stake who will not unquestionably confirm to its doctrines (and so far it is but doctrines – sorry!!)
When I separate the politics from the research, I don’t see any warming due to primarily to CO2. However, there has been a steady and worrisome increase in CO2 dissolved in the oceans. The increased acidity has already profoundly affected marine ecosystems – and it is almost entirely due to increased human CO2 output (although a volcano belches a prodigious amount of CO2 during an eruption) . Some scientists have even suggested dumping tons of lime into the ocean in an attempt to offset it.
But it would be much safer to just cut back on the CO2. I personally favor micro-nuclear reactors.
Here’s one excerpt from the site; there are many others. This one is at:http://nsidc.org/icelights/2013/04/12/a-greener-arctic/“If gardening in icy Greenland sounds unbelievable, think again. A chef in Kangerlussuaq has started growing tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and even strawberries for his restaurant, and Greenland’s potato production doubled between 2008 and 2012. These agricultural feats would have been impossible only a hundred years ago. *The Arctic has been warming over the past several decades at a rate twice as fast as the rest of the globe.”*Scientist Liang Xu and his colleagues studied how green the Arctic has become by looking at several decades of data, from 1982 through 2012. Focusing on the May through September growing season, they compared greenness and temperature across the Northern Hemisphere. They found that the increasing warmth fostered a longer growing season, allowing more types of vegetation to thrive further north. In fact, they found that in some areas, vegetation had crept more than 400 miles north—a dramatic shift in such a short time.“A greener Arctic with longer growing seasons might be great for growing vegetables, but like any dramatic environmental change, there can be far-reaching repercussions. Scientists are only beginning to discern what those might be.
For instance, during the long Arctic winters, white snow and ice typically cover the landscape. This bright blanket reflects sunlight and helps keep land and air temperatures lower. A warmer climate has already reduced sea ice extent, and the exposed dark ocean absorbs more heat from the sun. As trees and leafy shrubs start populating the Arctic, many researchers expect the Arctic landscape to also start absorbing more heat. Scientists use the term albedo to refer how much heat or light a surface reflects. Xu said, “If the snow is replaced by vegetation, the albedo will change, and it will absorb more solar radiation. A lower albedo will further amplify the warming.”Xu pointed out that does not necessarily mean the entire Arctic will continue greening at its current rate. “Unlike temperature, which can increase as greenhouse gases increase, vegetation has hard limits, like solar radiation and precipitation,” Xu said.
*You should probably not use real science sites to peddle your denialist drivel (I suggest Fox “News”). And, you should learn what the term “feedback” means; then read their article on the permafrost thawing (since GuardSGT is so happy that methane is a more potent GHG than is carbon dioxide).I would also point out that you and your cronies are the ones babbling about Al Gore. To me, he’s just another politician. I’m going with the scientists (even if I’m not allowed to use the term “consensus”).
Certainly, man has done some changes to the earth. So has every other species that burst in population. Sea plankton, dinosaurs, mammals. The one sure thing on this earth is change. The more we try to keep it from happening, it just gets worse. Maybe, China was right with their one child policy.Lets go back and blame antibiotics. They have allowed many children to survive and keep the old alive – If I were 40 years younger, I would have died in my 20s of pneumonia, as would many more.
Good point! This is exactly like smoking and cancer. If true, the tobacco industry takes a hit, so deny, deny, deny. If anthropogenic global warming is true then all industry takes a hit. For God’s sake DENY AT ALL COSTS!

Have I witnessed any evidence of global climate change? Yep, sure have. In Oz we call it Julia’s lie or the carbon tax.
