    Of course, Emotional Intelligence Quotient an imaginary thing since emotion is not directly tied to intellect.-Nonetheless, a properly working group is like a rope building on the cumulative strengths of each member, not weakened by any one’s particular weakness (unless he’s the boss, of course)

    I always pictured Mike as being successful, but here he’s shown not meeting one of my standards: work in a place with no fluorescent lighting.

    @SusanNewman

    I think this is the leadership team of the Doonesbury family business, meeting to discuss the performance of their business in the first quarter of the year. Mike somehow missed the memo, apparently, and just wandered in. I remember this, but the details are a little vague. Perhaps he’s more of a creative-team guy, while the ladies (these particular ones, anyway) are the numbers people, in which case they may not have sent him the memo.

    Night Gaunt 49, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. Mr. Obama does have his own motives. So far he has been able to manipulate the country to his agenda. He is quite competant and will continue to do what he wants if we, the people, do not unite and rise up. How, there are a certain group that will not look past their inherent racism and xenophobia. If we are to survive as a nation, we must break off the shackles of hate snd fear that those. In power have us in fear and division. This statement is directed at moderates, conservatives and liberals all.

    Every president must do what he/she can to protect us from foreign threats. Put yourself in his/her position. Doing nothing when there are those who wish to harm us is not an option. They have to do what they can, as in metadata mining, to find out what they need in order to protect us. They are not listening in on our phone calls. They are gaining data from those who would do us harm. Metadata mining was not invented by Obama and will be here long after he leaves office. We should be realistic in our expectations in regard to national security. I see where the fellow in the news who claimed to be a “whistleblower” has been going from China to Russia to Cuba. I don’t think he was out to do good for America. If he wanted to blow the whistle on something he had a way to do it, and it didn’t involve his particular travel itinerary.

    RR, hope don’t mind my jumping in but I just wanted to add a little history to your side of the argument.The author of Minor vs. Happersett, Chief Justice Morrison Waite, swore in a son of a British subject, Chester A. Arthur, as President in 1881.If the son of a British subject can be sworn in as President in 1881, a son of a British subject can be sworn in as President in 2009 and 2013. Chief Justice John Roberts, Deputy Solicitor General to the first George Bush and appointed to the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court by the second George Bush, has had no problem in swearing in Barack Obama. In fact, he has sworn him in 4 times.One would think if there was a Constitutional barrier disqualifying Obama from the Presidency, Roberts would of said, “I can’t do this. This man is not Constitutionally eligible to be President.”For those who still believe that Obama is Constitutionally ineligible to be President, please keep fighting your case in the Courts. Hopefully, one day it may reach the Supreme Court and a final answer will be issued.

    Obama’s mother, Stanley Anne Dunham married Barack Obama Sr. on February 2, 1961 in Maui, 6 months 2 days prior to the younger Obama’s birth. Obviously, she was pregnant at the time of her marriage. Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject because present day Kenya was a British colony in 1961.There have been a few – and I mean very few – who have claimed that Frank Marshall Davis, an African-American who was friend of Obama’s maternal grandparents, was the biological father of the younger Obama. If this is true, then Barack Obama is a natural-born citizen by the most strident standard one can apply.

    He just didn’t tell the Hawaii officials that he was already married. He was a scumbag of a human being, a drunk and wife beater.I did locate a copy of a divorce decree between Obama’s mother and father dated March 8, 1964.

    For the Supreme Court to rule on this matter, a case must be heard. So far the Supreme Court has not ruled on this case on merit. All cases have been rejected on grounds of lack of standing. That simply means we are all screwed equally.-Too bad. I for one would be happy to see this matter in front of the Supreme Court because I am certain that the court would find in favor of the President.-The question of Arthur’s birthplace was a hot topic in the 1880 election. Everyone knew that Arthur’s father was not a US citizen at the time of Arthur’s birth. They were convinced that Arthur was either born in Canada or his father’s native Ireland or Scotland. From Marquette University Law School:-The controversy over Arthur’s citizenship status centers around the place of Arthur’s actual birth. By one account he was born in his family’s home in Franklin County, Vermont. If this was true, then he was clearly a natural born citizen. On the other hand, the competing account has it that he was born during his pregnant mother’s visit to her family’s home in Canada.

    If the latter story is true, then Arthur was technically foreign-born, and in 1829, citizenship in such cases passed to the child only if the father was a United States citizen, and, of course, at this point Arthur’s father was still a citizen of the British Empire.

    The principal advocate of the “born in Canada” theory was Arthur’s fellow New York lawyer Arthur P. Hinman who was hired in 1880 by the Democratic Party to investigate Arthur’s ancestry. Hinman initially undermined his owned credibility by embracing an argument that Arthur was himself born in Ireland and didn’t come to the United States until he was fourteen years old. That story was patently false and easily disproven.-Entire article here:-http://law.marquette.edu/facultyblog/2009/10/14/president-chester-a-arthur-and-the-birthers-1880%E2%80%99s-style/-From the Boston Globe;-According to historical accounts, Republican bosses wanted him to provide proof of his birthplace, but he never did.

    Democrats, meanwhile, hired a lawyer named Arthur Hinman who sought to discredit Arthur, alleging that he was born in Dunham, Quebec, about 47 miles north of Fairfield. Hinman traveled to Vermont and Canada to research Arthur’s past, eventually concluding that Arthur was born in Canada but appropriated the birth records of a baby brother who was born in Fairfield, but died as an infant.-Entire article here:-http://www.boston.com/news/local/vermont/articles/2009/08/17/chester_arthur_rumor_still_lingers_in_vermont/-Again, the issue was not Arthur’s father’s nationality. Everyone knew that the father was born in Ireland, The issue was Arthur’s birthplace. Arthur claimed to have been born in Vermont and no one could prove otherwise.-We still have two forged B/Cs and Draft Registration forms to deal with.-Just to say something is forged doesn’t make it so. In each one of these cases there is a final authority. For the the birth certificate it is the state of Hawaii. Hawaiian officials have repeatedly said they have a birth certificate on file for Barack Obama born on August 4, 1961at Kapiʻolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital. They have the final say on this matter.As for the draft registration, the Federal government can bring charges if it is forged. What sense it makes to forge a draft registration, I don’t know. It took me 5 minutes to register and had no impact on my life afterwards.-The other scandals you accuse him of do not disqualify him for the Presidency. If any are criminal in nature, then the Congress can start impeachment proceedings.
