On a lake in the Cascades some years ago, I met up with a very nice couple who had their kayaks’ rear seats modified to accomodate their dogs. They even had lifjackets on their dogs..which I thought was overkill, since both animals were Labrador Retrievers.
One mistake in this cartoon, though. Nobody wears a helmet for kayaking on a lake, that’s strictly for whitewater

The ones shown are strictly single-seaters. However, my two-seater has carried me and two kids.
