Red and Rover must live in CA – they get out in mid June- typical though – last day of school is always half day. Brian Basset lives in Seattle though, and they also get out late.
I don’t ever remember getting a half day on the last day of school, not in elementary school, not in junior high, not in high school. I do remember the idiot who thought the last day of school was a great day to light up a joint and get on the bus: Bus driver body-blocked him right back off the bus before he ever knew what hit him; then held the kid until a sheriff’s deputy showed up. And that’s another thing: Nowadays there’s a “resource officer” in every high school and a few middle schools. How low we have sunken. Oh, and now it’s commonplace for elementary schools to waste a half day of everyone’s time on the last day. The high schools may as well do the same: Hardly anyone’s in the building and nothing productive is getting done. And having been in the schools until recently, I’ve seen it go down this way.

It’s typical around here for the last day to be one hour! That’s, what? 1/6 day?
