Specifics are way too specific to try remembering right off the bat…

The trick is to stick to some unspecific situation, and if somebody tries to specify a spithiffishhhhhhh…. a shpreciffthicth…..

I had some memories of a totally different kind come back to me last night of a life that might have gone a different path. I am quite sure that he will not understand how that correlates to the other. . . and that the reason I am not there is that it was not meant to be (even tho’ my parents paid them off so that I could not continue – because they wanted their only girl to give them grandchildren) and I did. Then I divorced a man I had only married because at 21, I thought it was time. And then I met him; will he understand? I doubt it. and I know he doesn’t believe in the depth of my feelings, so I’ll just be happy with what I can have This song has a little of the feeling.and it’s of the era although the pathetic version sung by Marilyn would be more fitting.

Shirley is the patient one, understanding, accepting and at this moment sympathetic. OK, that being said, TONY!!! You moron, you traded perfectly good polka dots for the rigidity of checks, coffee for tea and smoke for beers….what did you expect. Did you believe the stair way to heaven was paved with dry rubbed ribs? Did expect “on line” would answer your questions. How about the daily diary, what happened to the science channel, did you forget it’s the energy not the task, have you confused activity with production, snap out of it and answer me. Where’s you head?? Oh, I see, slipped over the edge again, looks like strawberry fields forever, I guess the Beatles were right, again…..

    Hullo all….

I’m making a huge pot of yaknoodle soup…..Get a big bowl or cup on its own, or as a side order with any Yakburger, barbecue sandwich, or dinner platter, yak or not…I just thought it would help all who are ill or ailing, from the strange germs and viruses that seem to be on the attack….

or who need a midsummer pick-me-up….

or who just happen to like yak noodle soup.

    No prscription required!

And good for what ails ya, as my Dad would say.

No, he would say “Puts hair on your chest….”

Bev…. nothing changes on a web page till you reload it.

All the page info… pictures, text, etc…. is loaded into your computer the first time you open it….there’s no continuous back-and-forth, no updating of content as it sits there.

That’s why refresh is sometimes called “reload” … you get a fresh copy of the whole page with whatever information is on it …. but now at a newer frozen moment in time…..

including new banners, and changed pictures, like avatars. That’s why you can’t see new comments till you refresh, either….

A lot of people can’t get their minds around that because pages may have content that moves or cycles, like animations…but they were all loaded at once, and just “play” as needed. The same way you load a YouTube video and then can play it for hours.

No, Grog… though if you WANT yak hair on your chest, I’m sure the Monkey would help me find an experienced chest-wig maker in Turdmunkistan….

No, that’s why I asked, Susan. I’ve got a little hair on my chest which is more than enough for me. I wouldn’t want to add yak hair to that.

No worries, Grog….in spite of all my Dad’s predictions….which I considered warnings, and he meant as praise of such hearty fare….my chest has never sprouted a carpet, or even a strand, of hair…. not human, yak, or any other.

I’ve been out all day at the Fabric Wars and got a little money for some of the stuff I didn’t want and gave the worst of them away. I person wanted some black faux fur fabric I planned as a lining for an outdoor cloak and had no money left and no silk so I traded for some linen. I did not expect this to be a major court event, but they held Royal and Baronial courts and some of my good friends got well deserved honors. I was reminded that I have not been attending many things lately (I will start doing more scriptoriums and perhaps other meetings.

I saw one of the students from my shoe class who had misplaced my contact info and there were others there who want to participate in the next class I do. It IS important to pass on all the crafts we learn because otherwise everything will be mass produced and uninteresting.

I don’t know whether THAT is also the problem with the films that Hollywood puts out nowadays (so that those of us who know the ones made under the old “studio system” appreciate that acting was actually a skill in those days. I tried it as an English major in HS because Drama was a necessary branch (but I couldn’t act my way out of a paper bag ). I was OK at singing and dancing, tho’. My youngest grand daughter (now 17) is good at all that and is very active in local theater. We are glad that she is also keeping her straight A grades as well because talent doesn’t necessarily count now.

Don’t worry Bev…. that was just my Dad’s idea of saying soup was hearty…. or something was spicyor a drink or a cup of coffee was strong…But though I took it as literal prophecy, and worried about it, when I was small…..as I told Grog…it hasn’t happened…yet.

    Sigh…..

All gone again…actually all gone when I checked an hour ago…. so I just peeked back in….

I see that there’s a lot less soup in the pot… hope everybody enjoyed it.

    What’s that, Fenton…three bowls?Wow… really?

Well, I guess she was hungry… and that’s what it’s there for.

I suppose free refills isn’t the best money-making policy…but that’s never been the Monkey’s only goal… or mine…(half the stuff in that soup comes from my kitchen… but half my meals come from the Tiki.)

And the Tiki Bar is the most popular joint in town, so it does quite well anyway.

I guess I’ll have my scotch alone…pour one on my tab for Red if he comes in…I drank my ale on his last night.

The secret to good leftover beans, chili or otherwise, is to eat them just before the legs evolve. That’s when they are at the most flavorful.Just be sure that you eat them before they grow teeth. It’s uncomfortable when they start gnawing their way back out…

Yes, Shika, I’m fine (even tho’ in the views of some it’s pathetic, and I enjoy him enough to plan to spend a month there every year (once I’m over this diet).

I’m GLAD I stopped back at the Tiki for a nightcap (Fenton, I’ll have my virtual Kahlua and Presidente) because Happy’s 2 last ‘toons are FUNNY and Stel’s new caption is a true LOL!

And as a vegetarian, I am having LOTS of chili (with wild rice) and 3 bean salad that I make with lots of red wine vinegar, mustard powder and dill. I had a big plate full a few hours ago on torn romaine with grape tomatoes and sliced jicama AND vanilla soy milk. So glad none of those beans have teeth (they give me no problems (but I don’t eat right before bedtime either).
