Today’s strip reminded me of an old “Peanuts” cartoon, where Snoopy (as a hockey player) is listening to the National Anthem. He’s thinking to himself: “That’s beautiful…just beautiful…twenty more seconds and I can hit somebody!” (Also relevant would be the Snoopy/Linus fight clouds when they were tangling over Linus’s blanket…..)

Linda, I saw your comment re cartoonists and commenting on old strips and what the cartoonist might think from last night. Chip Dunham is a pretty cool guy! I have been reading Overboard since I started here in 2008. I have at least 5 3 ring binders collected of his strips, and am also archiving Ten Cats and a few others. Anyway, heads up, the Instigator over at OB is CHIP!

Maybe the look in the last panel should be more of resignation than anger. I suspect that anger is somehow supposed to be funny, but not when it’s overused. Anger is not a good substitute for clever and wry...afficio, you’re a handsome man even if topside is white. Good shock of hair…… if you still have that, you’re doing great !  Fine looking brood !..My well wishes for Number Three’s return to a healthy glow. ..Happy Birthday to you, Susan/a> !
