I am reminded of Isaac Asimov who plotted some data points on a graph in which there was extreme scatter. -He labeled his graph:“THE SHOTGUN CURVE”because it looked like pellets from a shotgun had randomly hit and marked the paper.-I feel sure his advisor felt more humor regarding the situation than he let on.
