Red and Rover by Brian Basset for July 05, 2013
Transcript:
The morning after the Fourth of July is when I scour the neighborhood, picking up the charred and twisted remains of the previous night's pyrotechnics. Wow. I didn't know you were so civic minded when it came to litter. Huh?? No, I like to make stuff out of this.

Good job, Red…you don’t want Rover to get sick from all that garbage!

Not nice when you fine rockets on your roof sigh

comicgos: The rocket propellent is usually black powder (gunpowder), but the explosive in firecrackers is usually flash powder. Yesterday I gave up calculating how many lifetimes I would be sentenced to prison for what I did totally legally as a kid, and making my own fireworks is only part of it.

Good job Red. You helped clean up the neighborhood, are creative, and made your own toys.

We would search for “dud” firecrackers, break them in half and light them as a blowtorch. Great for melting toy soldiers!
