The year we forgot our tent stakes, I split them for ours (mine and my little brother’s) with a hatchet – Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
But … I was a Girl Guide! lol!

In most of the U.S. public campgrounds now, they would arrest the kids for cutting a piece of wood. Our ever-vigilant nanny state in action.
