You’re right. What’s personal observation and experience, after all, compared to being taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by someone who made stuff up out of whole cloth?
“Rather natural, after all – the other religions are competitors. ;)”-Not only that but if they truly believe, they believe the other religions are diverting others from the only true path of salvation and eternal peace. What’s a little force, war, pain and torture now if it insures billions of years of happiness afterward?-Just look at it on a balance and you will see they are logically justified as long as they accept the initial premise, whatever it is.
" Question is was it reactive or active violence?"-Too true. Just consider how many times people considered an attack on some member of their group as an attack on the entire group and responded in kind when it is possible the perceived attack was itself simply self-defense from a real attack by the other.-I remember a time when a kid in school ran up and hit me then ran to another spot. When I went to him to discourage him from picking on others, his big brother beat the daylights out of me, thinking I was attacking his rotten little brother.-Many years later they both died so all is well. In fact, the older brother finally realized what his little brother was doing for fun but not before getting into much trouble because of him.

I thought Agnes didn’t really have a religion. She doesn’t respect the church she has to attend.
