runar: I’ve read your comments here and on other strips. Your comments are often witty and entertaining, but your “cutter number” comment flew over my head. Is “NC 1429.D68A4” a codeword for something or just random letters and numbers?
Cutter Numbers are the codes used for cataloging books in the Library of Congress system. Whenever Theresa puts out a collection of “Frog Applause” in book form, the Library of Congress will assign it a number which will probably that one (or close to it):
NC = Fine Arts - Drawing;
1429 = American cartoon artists;
.D68 = with last names beginning with “Dow”;
A4 - collections of previously published works.
The date of publication will be added after the A4.
I’m not a librarian, but I dated a Library Science student in college. I was just wondering if anyone would pick up on the reference. I figured that if it was on any strip on this site it would be here.
