woman: and heres where we slice the potatoes before freezing them…
Moe: Hey, don't get too close those blades are sharp.
Seconds Later, "Curly fries" were invented
I remember when Arbie’s was actually sliced beef off real beef roasts…..Not the beef loaf they use now….I also remember when each McDonald’s cut their own fries, from real russet potatoes…….You could watch them do it on a little manual machine……
I once knew a guy who tried to straighten a curly fry. The torque was so strong that he very nearly died when the fry suddenly slipped out of a clamp and hit him in the chest.
I’ld be moe larry of their curly fries ’f I were ewe . . . no katsup needed . . ☻Used to love A&W RB back when . . used to get it in those conical containers that you could use as a megaphone when empty . . now A&W locally is merged with Long John Silver . . two bad . . sigh . . ☻
Probably my taste buds are dulled by now, but it seems that root beer just tasted better when I was a kid (oh, not that again, Dad!). Early in the ’60s, (I now read) sassafras roots were no longer used as the essential flavoring because the oil from these roots is believed to be carcinogenic. So maybe that’s the reason it tastes different these days. .The old flavor seemed to spread pleasurably from my tongue to fill my head with taste and aroma. I always meant to make batches of home-made soda pop to see if I could duplicate that effect, even bought the equipment for it, but then never did it. Some day …

Aw Bruno…. you beat me.
I was going to say “Try ‘em, and you’ll be asking for Moe!”
But of course, I can’t use that one now.

Hardly. The mountains are beautiful, and worth the drive, but it’s a small town and I currently have NO desire to run into the ex-SO or her cat.

Somehow I feel like that would be a substantial upgrade on the quality of, for lack of a better word, “food” that is served at Arby’s…
