I’m going to start using the word chum more…I read the first 44 Hardy Boys books!……People used to complain about simple series books like that ….But they made me a reader….And I can’t imagine a world without the 87th Precinct series by Ed McBain….

Chum? wonder what the origin of that word is. Did someone feed his friend to a shark? Must stop watching Sponge Bob.

I do. I also remember the Bobbsey Twins and The Boxcar Children. Read them all along with Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. At one point, I also read every Perry Mason mystery that was published. That kept the library busy in the stacks for a summer.

My favorite series were Tom Swifts (father and son) and Rick Brant. Best Harry Harrisons were the Stainless Steel Rat.
