One of the things I love about Marty is that she has Emmy Lou speak good standard English. Having been a voracious teenage reader myself, I can relate to a teen with a broader-than-average vocabulary and a more-sphisticated-than-average verbal style. One doesn’t often encounter them nowadays…although I have met a couple in recent years.
