I laugh at Pearls AND the Fusco Brothers.

    But then, Iā€™m easily amused.

Thereā€™s something different about Fuscoā€™s humor. Must be an acquired tasteā€¦..but once acquired, addicted.

    Or is it ā€œThe ā€˜Fusco Brothersā€™ ARE not amusingā€?

You would say ā€œThe Fusco Brothers ARE amusingā€ only if you mean the characters themselves are funny.

(Note that the title is not in italics or quotes.)

ā€œI think ā€˜The Fusco Brothersā€™ IS amusingā€ refers to the strip by its title, which is singular, as in the strip above.(In fact I would say ā€œThe Fusco Brothersā€ is particularly singular.)

Analogy: ā€œTo me, ā€˜Pearls Before Swineā€™ IS amusing because Rat and Pig ARE funny.ā€

    Pedantry strikes again.
