Pooch Cafe by Paul Gilligan for August 29, 2013
Transcript:
Poncho: C'mon, let's force that cat to help us! Mailman: Whoa, we can't just force it. We have to explain our situation and appeal to its good nature. Mailman: Cat, I've lost a piece of mail. It's up in a high place, and only you can help me. It's really important to me, and if you could find it in your heart to do me this one small favor, well, I'd be forever in your debt. Mailman: Alright, let's go.

Gee. This is becoming a long story arc.

It’s a story and stories take time to tell. If you think this is taking a long time, try listening to an Indonesian Gamalan.

Can´t say I did more than skim what he said in second frame after he claimed the cat had a “good nature” :p

I bet the cat ends up shredding the letter.

Mailman stock just rose exponentially with the dogs.

@All the complainers: If it’s such a long and awful story arc: a) go somewhere else or b) write your own friggin comic.

I’m waiting for the people to start frothing about abuse to animals by the way the cartoon man is carrying a cartoon cat, in a cartoon.

I don’t think any story arc could be as long as the cyberdog arc over on Citizen Dog that FINALLY ended yesterday. LOL (And, this one was infinitely funnier than on CD.)

If you want a cat (and some dogs) to do what you want, you have to bribe it. Tell the cat that if it catches the bird it can keep it. Or try catnip as a reward.

The joke was in the first panel. Appeal to a cat’s good nature? There is no such thing. You need to bribe it with some kitty treats or it won’t do a thing for you.

Whoever heard of a cat having a ‘good nature’?

Intriguing how the dogs and the mailman are now working together. After this is over, will they return to normal behaviour? Dogs barking at the mailman every day.

I actually thought today’s strip was kinda funny, the only way to move a cat is to actually move a cat. And having the cat tend to its neither regions is a normal reaction to a request. Having said that, What is with these looooooong story arcs lately? CD was painful (and unfunny)

I love the third panel! I mean, he appeals to the cat’s “good nature” and it answers him by licking its crotch! Brilliant!
