I don’t think she can see it, it’s just taking advantage of a convenient resting place..The artist has been on the “far out” tabs again.

Don’t blame the artist. Blame the idiot who “cleaned and improved it” in the 19th century. X-rays show she originally had a dog on her lap. Then someone cleaned it very badly and added the unicorn for no particularly good reason.
