Maybe they’ll use Snoopy’s doghouse in 2016 to stage the Summer Olympics.

Ah. Nice to see those two. They getting phased out now, and by the time the 60’s reruns are over they’ll both be pretty much gone. Too bad. I always liked them, Shermy two.

Snoopy must be a Time Lord, since his doghouse is SO much bigger on the inside than on the outside, and there’s never an end to what the denizens of the strip find inside it.

    Or maybe he’s a Time Lord’s dog.

one of the greatest mysteries in comic strip history:whats inside snoopy’s dog house?.

Another mystery: if the inside of his doghouse is so luxurious and well-furnished, why does he spend all of his time lying on TOP of it? (on the pointy ridge-line, no less, which can’t be very comfortable)

I thought they were using it as a storage shed. Lol

So, why has a snoopy a cedar closet when he doesn’t wear clothes? It must be filled with hats, caps and scarfs.

Snoop’s cedar closet is moth-proof, but not Peanut’s-proof.

Not crazy about Violet, but I always liked Patty. She reminds me of my first girlfriend (in 4th Grade) who was also a redhead. She was also very nice and sweet. Wherever she is, God bless Melinda!

Not sure how Snoopy’s home is laid out but I always envisioned that there were stairs just inside the door that led underground to a spacious multi-room abode. Love these strips about his doghouse!

This is no doubt where J.K. Rowling got her idea for the tent used in the tent last few Harry Potter movies. Great color in today’s strip!

I’ve long been envious of Snoopy’s doghouse, namely because of all the awesome stuff he has in it.

I thought Snoopy had swiped them!Snoopy’s dog house is like the magical tents in Harry Potter. They are small on the outside and magically luxurious on the inside to throw off the muggles.

Snoopy may have acquired a few things since that strip in ’59.

That was my thought also. It must have a large underground room.

I’ve been meaning to line my closet with those cedar panels. I could install them quickly with a staple gun. I’m not all that worried about aesthetics. Nobody sees the inside of my closet but me.

Inside vs. outside dimensions probably has a much longer history than I know. But as to Potter, I would look to CS Lewis’s ‘The Last Battle’ (1956) which predates both Snoopy’s doghouse and Doctor Who. Since Rowling has noted Narnia as being an influence, it seems a good possibility (although the popularity of the Doctor might have given the idea extra impetus).

I have this strip Snoopy does seem to be a good neighbor but I thought they lived in California I thought it didn’t get cold there so they didn’t need wool or sweaters unless they live in the Bay Area which can get cold at night I’ve seen jackets at Giants and A’s games in the summer no I don’t live there I in Texas I’ve seen the games on television
