Clerk: Bye, Mr. Drabble! See you next summer!
Ralph: The saddest thing about September is when the sno-cone shack closes down.
June: Oh, it's beginning to look a lot like...
Ralph: I stand corrected.
I saw the first Christmas commercial of the year on TV on September 6. Yucch. I love Christmas as much as anybody could, but for goodness sake not before Thanksgiving! That’s almost as bad as when any reference to Christmas suddenly disappears on December 26.
The stores already have Christmas stuff up. One full aisle dedicated to Halloween and so far half an aisle dedicated to Christmas. We only just got over having very hot temperatures last week.
At the start of September the supermarkets began selling Halloween pumpkins. Those things will be orange balls of mush by the time Halloween comes. At least all the Christmas stuff is plastic and will last until the holiday.
