Ten Cats by Graham Harrop for August 24, 2013

The discussion about 9-lives brought back memories of our dear old Boston Blacky (now gone for over 50 years but still remembered).He had probably used a couple of them during his tom-cat wandering around the neighborhood, but one time he came home very ill. We never found out what the “bug” was, but it used up about 6 of his lives. We took turns nursing him (and kept the other 5 cats away so they wouldn’t catch whatever it was. It was great joy the day he took a little nibble of food.It took another week for him to regain his strength, but he was forever a changed kitty — no mor tom-catting – he was content to lay in the sun on the porch railing and then come in to be petted and fed and cuddled.

For anyone here who may not know much about cats, there ARE “kitty condos”. Google and see.

My cat prefers the box the condo came in.

Whitecarabao-nice story about your Boston Blackie-what a great name as well. I hope he lived a long life after his brush with death.

Cats! You either love ’em or learn to, right Hubby? New kitten just tried to climb up my leg, punctured a small vein, and I grew a huge lump of blood in 30 sec! Ice pack and time got it stopped and lump down. Now have a 4 inch dia of black bruise. Cats! Gotta love em, eh?
