Aren’t there several nuclear power plants here of the same exact design?-Oh well, maybe they’ll consult with British Petroleum on how to overcome a disaster using a media blitz.

Is it possible that all of the posts preceding this one are actually in agreement that this cartoon represents is a bad situation? One wonders how gov’ts will respond. Will more food inspectors be dispatched to test seafood? Will contaminated food be detectable by gieger counter or is it a tissue test? I really do not know, but eating Pacific salmon and crab is going to be disconcerting to me until I know.Saw some beautiful trout in the rivers of Tenn during my vacation last week. So sorry Japan and the rest of us have to be concerned about this contamination. Respectfully,C.

From “atoms for peace” back to “atoms for pieces”. Technology is capable of improvement, but accountants, not engineers make the designs “business” will follow.

" this plant is doing really good for going though an earthquake and tidalwave that both exceeded its design specs."-I s’pose revisiting the design specs to have them conform to what is seismically likely would have costs and would therefore be Bad For Business.-I’m guessing that you don’t live in close proximity to one of those reactors?
