I’m surprised the Fink didn’t put Rodney in the launcher.

and don’t worry, if you miss it on the way up, you can catch it on your way back down. just remember to not hold your breath lest your lungs explode. oh never mind, the 20,000 Gs will drive all the air out of your lungs. You’re good to go, for good.

I don’t think he will hit the moon with that trajectory… unless he will orbit the earth first.

Unfortunately a gun can’t get anything to the moon. The fastest a projectile can be made to go is the speed of sound (the expanding hot gasses are traveling just that fast). The Apollo rocket broke the sound barrier before it had gone its own length.

Is the projectile….errrr… astronaut’s red shirt a tribute to The Guy Who Always Gets Killed on Star Trek?

This seems like much cheaper way to get to Mars that the plans NASA is currently looking into. Then, there’s always the question of getting back!! Guess this idea is only good for a “fly by”.

“The Huns have a space program? Are the Mongolians curing cancer in the meantime?”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Factuality (made-up word) has no place in comics. Just relax and go with it.

Given the spike in all technology the US moon program created you might well have cured cancer by now if it had continued!

Actually, due to high temperature of the propellant gas, the speed of sound is much higher than the ambient speed of sound. This is why even a BB can go faster than the speed of sound in the air it traverses, the air spitting it out is so hot that speed is higher.
