    Yes and that was the humor of it.

    I’m reminded of President Jefferson writing in favor of democracy and that we should impose it on other nations by force if necessary. Several later presidents also thought it a good idea. They were wrong but well intentioned.

    Very hard to determine their content or tone by reading the URL.

    It wasn’t the prgress that the Luddites objected to, it was the lost of jobs, the low wages and I think more importantly – the lost of skills. Why know how to weave when a machine could mass produce what took you hours, days or weeks to complete..As to all the reigion chat – there was a very small piece in the paper about the Pope. To paraphrase – he basicasly said Gid doesnt care if you’re agnostic or atheist or anything else. As long as you live a good & just

    Or more reasonably, modify our economy so it doesn’t depend on “makework” and unnecessary consumption. Meet the most basic needs required to avoid death and let people do better as they wish
