I have a landline, as the cell doesn’t get a signal in my home, or even outside the house, At least with the landline, I can get calls from my family, etc.
Our landline gives us free calls all over the world. My cell phone gives me calls to the other side of town – if I can find it, and if it’s not gone flat. I’d trash it if my husband would let me. Hate the blasted thing!
So many don’t understand the importance of a landline. They will almost always work even in times of emergencies and disasters. Seeing as they run off battery back up. Unlike cell towers that can be damaged and go down.
In tornado alley, you keep the landline. When the power goes out and the weather radio is spotting touchdowns, the cell towers get jammed with calls. I’ve been unable, at times, to contact family that have cell only.
Got rid of our landline when we started getting collect calls from the prison asking if we would accept the charges from “Jamal” or “Denzel”.When we would say “No”, the convict on the line would start cursing, unaware that he was too stupid to give the operator the correct number.

Au contraire, my monthly landline bill was almost twice what my cell phone bill is.
