I remember one time when I was in Junior High another kid in my class stole my book and hid it. I didn’t tell anyone the book was missing but later that day one of my classmates came up and asked me if I’d found it. Right away I knew it was him so I started talking about how it was a county library book and how the library would know who stole the book and make them pay for it. the next day before class the boy came up and offered to help me look for it and took me right to where he’d hidden it. I never let on that I knew it was him all along and never stole another book for fear that the library would catch him and charge him for the missing book.
