Had a hawk near my office that had his fill of rodents by about eleven every day. He spent the rest of the day perched on a lamppost overlooking the freeway, counting the cars as they passed.
For the 2nd time in a week, when I looked at “Pickles,” the same beautiful melody played. The melody was unhummable, so I couldn’t hum it to ask someone what it was. However, this time my camcorder was handy and I taped it. I will copy it to DVD so I’ll be able to hear it when I want to. Has anyone else heard that tune?
It surprises me how many people I’ve found who didn’t know that some types of hawks eat smaller birds. Survival of the fittest across all species, not just rodents.
And a peregrine falcon can dive at 241 mph to smack a pigeon out of the air and into their talons.

I think you could hack it Earl.

Earl sure has an eagle eye today! Is it because the hawk is “making lazy circles in the sky”?

You wouldn’t want to be a hawk. They don’t live aslong as a human.

You could catch those squirrels Opal has been feeding

If Earl can identify a nuthatch and a hawk he must know a little about birds. Right? For some reason I wonder about that!

It looks like that cloud is going in one of Earl’s ears and out the other.
