    Oh, I haven’t thought of Allan Sherman in ages! Liked Tom Lehrer and Spike Jones. Didn’t care for Elvis, but I think my favorite was Victor Borge.

    I sang it for Pete Seeger once and at “right in…”, his knees buckled and he almost fell down laughing. He figured out that more improbable rhyme..Polkas: There was a Gluckenheimer Sourkraut band which did to um-pah what Spike Jones did to pop standards. Their drummer was George Lichty, who created Grin and Bear It.
