In keeping with the history of this strip, as shown in last Sunday’s page, we’re bringing back the hand of the Unseen Boss, as a a tribute to that very first panel By “Hat” Hogar in 1912.
No real boss/employee cooperation is the boss says “jump”, the employee does his/her dead level best jump, then employee asks, “Was that high enough?”. Ask anybody who has been in the military.
Yet some readers put posts like that on a lot of different comics. They react to antagonists as if they genuinely wish them removed from the strip. It’s over the top how much vitriol is directed at Lucy for pulling the football away from Charlie Brown. It’s a gag, folks.
Is this gonna be like that Simpsons episode about the corperate retreat in the mountains where Homer and Mr. Burns get starnded in a cabin underneath an avalanche? I hope so because I like that episode.

Rita does have a point. But I guess she’ll be going anyway. The Hand says so.

The boss is thinking about the kind of cooperation where HE says jump, and Rita joins the rest in asking “How high?” That kind of cooperation.

The strip would be no fun without Rita. Comedy draws from conflict. Who wants a boring strip where everything runs smoothly?

So Rita’s not really in charge of this company and who is that person?

If the strip is on gocomics, then please let them plug it in the appropriate way.

I don’t think that Rita realizes that she isn’t the top person in the company.
