Our cat Tiger used to reach a paw up over the table and feel around for any food.I’ll join you Bev, May I have mine on the rocks with no salt, Fireman?
I wouldn’t think there would BE any second-time dinner guests in the Wilson home.
Not many “first-timers” either, now that the stories have circulated at almost every club and gathering in Ballard County.
In fact, when I was giving Harriet Clancy her fall perm last week, she told me that Nanette Wilson told her they’d cancelled Herb’s birthday dinner two weeks ago.
It seems that every single invited guest had contracted a mysterious virus…. and they all expected it to last till the end of October.
Harriet said Nanette was mystified….and then she gave me a mysterious wink.
Susan can I have a bloody mary without the mary? in other words…tomato juice, vodka and lots of spicy tobasco etc…and a big slice of celery…tell the lil guys to chop the celery in thirds…and add some red and white pepper…Thank you!
And sure…. but I can’t quite figure out what you want it without…
You listed about everything I’d put in a Bloody Mary, except maybe a little Worcestershire. So I’ll pass your order on to the Fireman…. The little monkeys kinda go by the book…. but he knows every drink variation.
Meanwhile…. I fell asleep in a back booth…First chilly evenings of the year mean the first cozy fires in the Tiki fireplace….Easy to drift off….but now I have to drift farther off….home to bed!G’night Linda…. little monkeys…. Fireman….. and anybody lurking back there….
Hi, Susan, Bev and 2Old and Linda too! I’m down here early. I’ve got to adjust from the warmer weather. Although it’s been lovely just using cross-ventilation since beginning of the Equinox (no AC). I have to start cutting back as the weather is cool (58F right now a couple of hours after daybreak). I have been very comfy under my lovely silk comforter (middle son bought me a new one about a year ago for my birthday). Darned IE froze on me and now I’ve finished breakfast and sure you’ve all left the Tiki ;-( IE is SUCH a PITA that I may go Apple with my next device. Right now tho’ I’ll just be digging up money for my facelift.
Morning everyone Bev, Susan Ling, Linda, INGSOC Veteran Oh Hi pcolli, didn’t see you over there. The fireplace sure feels good this morning, its 51 outside. Pretty soon Ballard St will have a dusting of snow.I plan to do quite a bit of shopping in Maui. my Daughter knows all the good places, so get your present lists in soon. we are taking the laptop so I’m hoping to check in, I can’t be away from all of you or I start to get shaky (friendwithdrawal)We come home on Nov 14 so I’ll have plenty of time to ferrit out whatever strange or wonderful thing you want me to bring back. Don’t forget I love a good shopping hunt!
Reggie acted out because he was upset that Mrs. Wilson had bought one of those really big Econo-size packages of drumsticks (more than enough to go ‘round at dinner!) but hadn’t set aside one for HIM ! BIG MISTAKE!!
Reggie’s investigative sniff of Erwin convinced him there would be no resistance offered… experience had taugh Mr. Wilson, long ago, that you never leave your plate unguarded(Note right arm protectively cradles his plate.)
@Happy, That last pizza slice being eaten looks like the kind the kids liked that came frozen (not so good anyway) so I’d let the puppy have it. I know I’ll be doing even more healthy cooking once this diet is over.
I just got an estimate for my face and neck yesterday and hope to do that before the end of the year. I was told that someone should be with me for a couple of days afterward so I just emailed my daughter (hope she can visit while her husband is in Scotland one of his trips). Not sure about that, but the rest will be easy enough to work out and I’ll pay from one of my IRAs.
I need to make plans for all the many new projects and it’s getting late. Time to make some tea and head upstairs. G’night all. I think I’ll close IE so maybe I can get here in the morning.

Reggie’s idea is if you think about it too much then you don’t want it so it’s mine. Because if you TRULY wanted it you would guard it.

Since Airlines charge soooo much for weight, I’ll just send stuff as the requests come in.
