When they wanted to buy those very chairs at the garage sale next door, they said $5 for the pair was way too much…Burl went back, over and over, relentlessly offering $1 apiece, till the neighbors took it, just to get rid of him. They even threw in the box of candles.

Ten years later…. legs bowed by ten years of bearing massive Penny weight, stained by spilled drinks, bleached by the summer sun, frozen by the winter snow…withered and cracked by ..um…odors and fumes….

I guess their value has increased tenfold because they’re….um…. collectible Penny memorabilia?

I only had one real yard sale (had no garage at the old house) and a lot was stolen during first bit because my youngest son came down to basement to check some last minute things and he forgot to tell me that his brother-in-law (also “helping”) was virtually illiterate (so unable to abide by the detailed list of things with prices). I had 2 of my own religious paintings among stuff, and one of those was stolen. I had a good collapsible bike that I sold for best offer end of day – $25 (too hot to bike outdoors in Phoenix).

I changed my avatar to recent a bareface visage from this month. At the least I am already doing a new whiter upper and I think whiter and slightly rounder, longer teeth. I am trying to thicken/darken eyebrows with a Latisse type stuff and some lt brown color (because they’re nearly invisible (I have a little pencil on, but that rubs off and I prefer not to wear makeup).

Beside that, I want to find a local salon that is good with pieces. I want to keep my natural gray but I need to have someone match it with a good MIX #22 is close but a single color does not look good.

Dentist asked me to bring in photos of earlier time when my teeth looked good but even by HS graduation I had caps on all my upper teeth, so I plan to take that with the best smiles of our family. I placed direct relation closest to me (daughter and one granddaughter) and my other daughters with their lovely smiles as well. That IS more what I expect to achieve.

Burl, you’re slipping. Verla’s only allowed to sell stuff at your gar(b)age sale if she splits the profits with you. 75% for you, 25% for her. And, that’s after she pays the $50 table fee (she can have any table she provides).

went to an Estate Sale, found something, it had a tag thag said Goodwill $3,50, asked if they would take less (afterall they DID buy it at the Goodwill) guy got all huffy and said he paid $3.50 and that was the price and if we could find it for less someplace go ahead. I told him " what part of SALE don’t you understand?" Its now 5 weeks later and he is still trying to sell his stuff EVERY weekend.!

I recall last month or so that they had a gar(b)age sale, and a guy arrived at closing first day. joy said he could look around prices were firm. Burl said he could look around, everything was 1/2 price tomorrow.-A garage sale is one of the places two fools meet. the seller who refuses any offer for his trash, and a buyer who made an offer to buy someone’s trash. It is the day two fools met.
