Pretty much. []I make so little that just to even get on a “bronze” plan that I’ll be looking at paying 50% – 80% of my annual salary just to cover the premiums. I’m too poor to qualify for a subsidy, and so unless I come into a large sum of money or find a high-paying job overnight I’m in major financial trouble.

Yes, stock up some more. Of course you are planning on sharing your stored food with the “less fortune” if there is a need. God bless you..

still perplexes me that the gop thinks any socialized medicine is the worst thing in the world. that if a person gets cancer, god’s will. that if a veteran needs rehab for a lost leg, that the veteran is weak. that elderly and orphans should fend for themselves without any help. and, what is the gop’s constant war mongering with anyone, even against our allies?

    “Welfare Healthcare has arrived.”

True: Corporate Welfare for insurance companies. Everyone has to buy their product, so a windfall of premiums are coming their way. And next, using the Premium-Increase Dartboard to determine how much a captive audience must pay them. 100% more? 200% more? Even easier to raise rates, since so many people have told us that the rates will rise….a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What? That Obamacare is not free? C’mon, this isn’t difficult. You pay insurance premiums or you pay a penalty. What’s so hard about that? Anyone who says otherwise is the liar, not me.

Um, no, BOEHNER refuses to put the budget in front of Congress. There are ALREADY enough votes to pass it right now. Get it right.

Understood. However, the insurance industry is loaded with creative accountants, and I have suspicions that much of their non-care spending will be carefully hidden. I do not give them any credit for honesty or altruism, as they have shown me no reason to do so.

The Kaiser Family Foundation quoted me an average of $2,400 / year for an “acceptable” bronze-level policy.[]I only made $2000 last year from all sources. []I’m on the clock for less than 10 hours a week at my part-time job (down from 15), sales at my Half.com store have tanked as the recession has reared its head again, and the weather has been such that I haven’t had as many good days of late to do scrap metal. []I’ve only gotten one interview for a new job in the past calendar year despite handing in about 2 – 3 dozen job applications. There are simply that many people per job opening. []About the only hope I have of getting decent work involves scrounging up enough to get a better vehicle so that I can travel to an area where the economy’s healthier.

Gee…I seem to remember a lotta talk about “the Public Option” under consideration by the Libs…(Single Payer, by another name) and all the FUD and furor against that “Communist” proposal that would be DOA in Congress (presumably by “Obstruction”, as the Reps were minority in both houses. The ACA was a fall-back, an attempt to get the Right to show their colors on a program THEY had formulated, endorsed and implemented in Mass. , under R-money. It was adapted to use on a National scope…and …loudly, firmly, ludicrously labeled as Socialism/Communism by the Right-Wing, Tea-Party sycophants, the party of “NO !”, because they lost the election for the “Oval” to a “Dog-Whistle” foreign, Muslim, Communist Usurper…and so it continues 4+ years later, after intimidation and manipulation, more electoral loss and serious defamation brought to the entire Republican Party by a minority “cult” of egocentric misguided dogmatists. This “Cowboy” “My-way-or-the-hi-way !” – dare I say, “W” mentality is NOT democracy, or Freedom,..or American. Compromise does NOT mean “Do it MY WAY, or ELSE !”…and there is evidence of only ONE Party, right now, NOT practicing that strategy. (JMO-YMMV)

About 7 pm yesterday the Republicans put to a vote a partial continuning resolution to fund just the Veteran’s Administration through December 15th. Because of the way it went to the House floor it needed a 2/3rds vote.163 Democrats voted against it, 40 voted for it along with all the Republicans present.A similar bill to allow operating funds to go to the city of Washington DC was similiarly voted down by 164 Democrats.

That’s WTF. The Democrats don’t care about anyone or thing except getting their way.

No “expelled member” here. I signed up one time with this user name and avatar. I also am extremely unlikely to get banned as I rarely if ever use personal insults, ad hominens, or foul language in posting. I am more adult than a Progressive Leftist.
