To answer your question JFRI, I had a good visit with my mom. There was a touch of drama at her retirement home. While we were eating dinner, the fire alarm went off and all the doors clanged shut (hydraulic). They sometimes have drills, but it turned out to be a real alarm. I wish I could describe it fully, because it turned into quite a funny scenerio. Turns out it was a muffin in the microwave which a resident was using in the cafe downstairs. She tried to hide it by throwing it in the bin, but the smoke was to much and the alarms went off.

…two trucks and a pumper arrived after it was discovered, and we saw a staff member showing the firemen the rock-hard muffin…I joked at the table that I just wanted to see the firemen, and I’m sure the firemen wondered why everyone at our table was giggling!We had other dramas, but that was the funniest.
