I’ve never been able to write anything without organizing my thoughts and getting myself into the right mindset beforehand. I was never able to just sit down and write on command. Creating an “outline” (or any of the other “tips” I was given) never worked at all. On essay tests in school I generally ended up doing all the actual writing in the last 10 minutes.
