    I love the sides of the strip — read from bottom to top whilst the rest of the strip reads top to bottom. Ah the little joys of grocery delivery and the old flats with the dumb waiter. Interesting how this one is not electric, but manually run by the janitor.

    Grocery shopping as we know it (going to a store, shopping, and taking it home) didn’t become standard until the 20s. Before then, you placed your order with a clerk and a delivery boy brought it to your home. So, it was easier to be a grocery thief back then, especially in buildings that used a dumb waiter haha
