Laura: Hey, how's the novel coming? Adam: Oh, it's... Coming. Laura: Hit a snag? Adam: No... Not really. Laura: Writer's block? Adam: No... No... Laura: Internet? Adam: It's always there, Laura! It's always there!!
I’m always distracted by the internet. I should be working now but here I am reading comics. I need help!
The internet calls my name and I must respond! And before you know it, it’s past bed time. Will power, Adam, will power.
I have the same problem, Adam. So I give myself a few minutes to read the comics and check email before getting started, then I’m in the zone.
The world is a BIG place!!!!!!!!!! They don’t call it a “web” for nothing! It will suck you right in………….
The interwebs is a procrastinator’s best friend. I swear it’s the reason higher edu degree programs get stretched to 7-8 years.
That’s why you write it out first and THEN save it onto your computer, less distractions that way.
Oh. I can relate to this.
There may be computers, word processors and typewriters, but nothing beats the first draft done on notebook paper with pencil or pens. I still have some unfinished drafts done in green Sheffield ink from their ink pins.
