Sy or See was Mel Blanc (also voice of Bugs Bunny & many other cartoon characters). you could add Ish Kabibble (of Kay Kaiser fame) ton the list of lost fav’s. Having a senior moment on Kookamunga.
Now all we need is for Fred Allen – or a poor substitute (because even Benny would acknowledge that there was no real substitute for Fred Allen) – to show up.
The “Anaheim Azusa and Cuc……amonga” joke was a multi-layered joke. First there was the break between “Cuc” and “amonga”. Then too, for most of his time in radio Benny did two shows a night, one for the east coast and one for the west coast. People in the east could laugh at those crazy California names. People in the west, particularly those in the Los Angeles area, knew however that it was impossible to take such a train – there is no rail line that directly connects the three towns. So you had three jokes for the price of one (which of course made Mr. Benny very happy).
I see a lot of other people also saw the Jack Benny connection, but I couldn’t help but picture Frank Nelson as the salesman. “Oh mister, mister.” “YEESSSSS!!”

If Jack Benny were still alive, he’d enjoy seeing himself spoofed like this. :)

Wonder if Skezix keeps his money in a guarded vault, too. I used to enjoy the segments when Jack Benny would go down to his vault and get $2.00.
