AND TO THE CAPPERS…Thank you for not pointing out the obvious…Yes, I posted Thoughts etc., twice….I honestly didnt remember posting the first time…I dare anyone to take my meds and have a memory!!…lol…will endeavor to do better….
Andy obviously had a few too many from the Big Dipper. (He wishes he lived in the Beery Way galaxy, not that silly Milky Way thing, also. Maybe THERE the coppers can tell the difference between the floor and the pavement…….)
@MikeyjThere’s a remake of “Mad Mad World” in development (tentatively planned for summer 2015 release), I hear. No idea who’s supposed to be in it, though. Most movie remakes are nearly as lame as comic strips written by hacks instead of by the original creators, of course. (I’m not sure why “Andy Capp” makes me think of this……..)
Gosh Linda, I’ve forgotten how much I love your cat pics, thank you so much for them,Hi to ‘Dry, we all miss youNumber six, maybe (just maybe) the Tortie is an “outfdoor” cat and not a stray,(fingers crossed)And finally, to Linda again: if I were in your situation I would be huddled in a chair feeling sorry for myself, I think you are brave and wonderful and I’ll cut you any kind of slack you want!
Just discovered:http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Capp:_The_Game.Described as: In 1987, a computer game based on Andy Capp was released for the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum, entitled Andy Capp: The Game. It was released to a North American and European audience. Players had to borrow money in order to replenish the Andy’s alcohol supply while avoiding fights with either his wife Flo or with the police..
There’s also a not very revealing Wikipedia article about the character.
I keep water by the bedside for a mouthful as needed. I am up a few times a night but consider water only as a good way to flush stuff out of you. -Well, I call him Grampa Kitty, at least. Laura says the only way she can collect Spencer for vet visits is “when he comes to love me when I’m on the toliet”. I got a good look at him late last night when he came out to the kitchen to eat. Me jostling to get a better look seemed to get him on the run, quickly. -I like dogs too, at least the ones that are crazy about me ! Big dogs that think they are tea cup poodle lap dogs can be painful.-I saw an Avatar trailer and didn’t care for it. Can’t remember my opinion, but remember that some others who are inveterate movie goers weren’t so high on the hog about it themselves.-A Super Satyrday [Saturday] coming your way !____________________________________
There were some parts of “Avatar” which I enjoyed very much but some of it dragged and was a bit too ‘Sci-Fi’ for me. I’m not a big fan of Sci-Fi stuff. I thought the film was cleverly made altogether. Even though I’ve only saw it once… I would give it a 5/10.-I always have to keep getting up in the night because of all the water I drink. Good thing it doesn’t take me long to get back to sleep. Some people can’t do that.-What does Spencer look like then? Fur colour? Size?-I mentioned before that I was scared of dogs but only certain breeds. I’m scared of little dogs sometimes too. I don’t like it when they bark and bark. It gives me the trembles.-I hope you have a Super Saturday too!
@Number ThreeYou’re wise to fear small dogs and like “Peanuts.” I remember Charlie Brown telling Linus once that Snoopy, as small as he is, is the kind of dog that burglars fear the most. “Why is that?” Linus asks. “Is he such a good watchdog?” “No, they’re just scared that they might trip over him in the dark!” (If any of our fine classics posters could find that one, I’d be eternally grateful. Or at least I’d thank you kindly………..)@pcolliI’m sure I’m dating myself but I used to have a Commodore 64. (Of course I was too young to drink at the time but I would have had fun playing that Andy Capp game had I known about it!)
The same friend I mentioned in my reply to No 6, had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. It was the soppiest thing I’ve ever seen. No matter what breed a dog is, mongrel or not; the owners are to blame for the dog’s behaviour..Having owned many different dogs, I realise that a dog needs discipline. The owners of “bad” dogs tend to let their animals rule the roost.
In our replies to comments, we have reference to whom we are responding. I think it would be a good idea if the original comment had a sign that it had been replied to.
That is terrible. I’m so sorry to hear that. I love cartoon dogs like Snoopy, Odie (from Garfield) and Marmaduke. When I was little… About 3 or 4 years old. This very old dog was sitting outside and I think I must have scared it (I don’t know how) and it went for me.I can’t remember if it bit me or not but since then I’ve always been scared of strangers’ dogs circling around me and barking. My Mum tell me not to let the dogs see that I’m scared of them and just look ahead. Apparently, They can smell fear.
@Number ThreeThe secret is to scare the DOGS! That’s why I pack a raccoon under one arm and a possum under the other……No, seriously, I love dogs. I like cats, don’t really love them, but they seem to love me for some odd reason. (Whereas dogs seem to like me without loving me for some equally odd reason…….is that a law of the universe or something?@beviekI missed my chance to see Dyan Cannon but I’m already looking forward to George Wendt. He graduated from Rockhurst College (as it was then) here in town, and came to town for a meet and greet years ago. (Of course that was after he was kicked out of Notre Dame……..) I got a chance to meet him, then. (Of course, nothing can beat the time I got my picture taken with Gilligan, the Professor, and Mary Ann…..I really need to hunt that up and post it one of these days!)

If you’re studying astronomy, Mr. Capp, then point out to the constable where the North star is.
